Atlanta – Doctors at the Centers for Disease Control released details of steroid injections that have so far led to 15 deaths in 15 states.

Some 212 cases of non-contagious fungal meningitis are suspected of having been caused either by epidural injections of Methylprednisolone acetate in the spinal area, or in peripheral joint spaces of the hips, knees, or shoulders. An additional two cases of infection in peripheral joint spaces are attributed to the injections at clinics spread from coast to coast.
